Over on Manga Views

New reviews added! Check out the recent posts for linky goodness for reviews for Black Butler, Skip Beat, Little Butterfly, Diamond Girl, and more! Thanks to Kate for doing some data entry recently! We still need people to add manga series and review links to the database, so drop me a line if you’re interested.

Over at Manga Views

I added Cactus’s Secret and there’s a new poll up.

I do need some help with data entry! If a handful of bloggers would take fifteen minutes to a half hour a week to add links to their reviews, that would free up some of my time to work on site improvements, adding entries and reviews for older series, etc. Drop me a line if you’re interested in helping out. I’m not going to stop updating the site, but I’m running into a bit of a sustainability problem.

Manga Views Update

There’s a new poll on Manga Views, What is your favorite Fumi Yoshinaga manga?

I’ve also filled in a ton of reviews from A to E. Many of the titles that just had one review link as a placeholder now have 5+ review links, so I hope that will be useful! This month is going to be extra busy for me, so while I’ll still update the site as I can, I’m not likely to have time to do a huge block of data entry until next month. I’m planning on going through all the manga in the Manga Views database and adding additional links eventually. If any bloggers out there have time to add their own review links, that would be great!

First Week of Manga Views

If you want to keep up with what’s going on over at Manga Views, I have a blog over there where I post about site updates and improvements. I’m happy to see so many people registering and using the site. Our manga review list has gotten so long, I switched it to a paginated format. Not all the manga on the list have reviews yet, but we’ve got a great structure to build on. I think we started with only around 25-30 individual manga in the system and probably 50+ reviews for the manga. Now we have over 150 manga and I think 200+ reviews.

I thought I’d highlight a couple manga pages that have multiple reviews so you can see how the site works to collect opinions from different manga blogs. One title that captured a lot of attention when it was released was Black Bird, and we’ve collected six reviews for it. Critical darling Children of the Sea has seven reviews you can browse. I’m hoping that collecting these reviews will be useful as we will continue to add more content. I often find that when I’m looking for manga reviews on google or another search engine I end up having to filter through a ton of scanlation sites in order to find a couple reviews, so I’m hoping that Manga Views will help to provide a central place to find reviews from a variety of bloggers.
