I broke down and bought New Moon, because Stephenie Meyer was in town for a book signing, and a large contingent of my book group was going to see her so of course I went too! It was fun hearing her talk about her books, she seems totally in love with some of her characters. The audience was mostly female, but there was a good mix of the elderly (people my age) and a mini-horde of teenage girls. Someone passed around a jar of band-aids with puncture wounds on them, so you could put one on your neck and look like you had an oozing vampire bite. I didn’t like New Moon quite as much as Twilight, but I still read it in a day. I thought Meyer used the word “ascertain” way too much, it was actually a little jarring at times.
