Is it National Delurking Week? Feel free to delurk and comment. Or just comment even if you haven’t been lurking! I’m starting to get close to 2000 comments on this blog, and I thought that I’d give something away to the 2000th commenter. I’m not sure what the prize will be. It might be graphic novel related, or it might be something knitted, or it might be a gift certificate somewhere. But it’ll be something! The only rule is that the comment has to be made on a post from January 2006 onward.
So, how’s everybody doing? What was your favorite Hanukkah/Christmas/Winter Solstice present? What’s up with Ilya Kovalchuk?

Hi Tangognat,
My favorite Christmas present was the TV series “Profit” box set. It was such a brilliant show but it only lasted a few weeks on Fox.
One of these days I’m going to join the ranks of comics-obsessed librarian bloggers. Right now I’m going back to lurking.

Thanks for delurking! You should totally join the ranks of comics-obsessed librarian bloggers. I have Profit in my netflix queue. I think I only caught a couple of episodes when it was on Fox, all I remember about the show was that there was a bit with a box.

My favorite present was my surround sound system. Its very nice.
National Delurking Week. I like that. Can we petition the goverment to make it an official holilday or you can create your own internet holiday like Talk like a pirate day or Towel day. Thanks for the giggle.

Hiya! I just started to read your blog-I think it’s pretty cool!
Hmmm…it’s a tough choice, but my favorite present was a little angel ornament that my niece painted for me with her brand new water colors.
I work in a library, love to knit, and just started to get into manga (it’s pretty cool, too!) LOL.

Well, my favorite present was this very stylish hat someone knitted me. : ) Of course that may be pushed back one if I ever get the iPod that was promised, but never received. Can’t say I really lurk though.

Been reading this blog for quite awhile and like your comic and book comments.
My favorite thing for Christmas would have to be Batman: Cover to Cover or a complete set of Sin City graphic novels.

Thanks everyone for commenting so far!
Romana1, I think I’d like to start a gang of library people who love to knit and read manga
little D, it is nice that you like your hat, but I don’t blame you if the iPod becomes your new favorite present.
Deb - A complete set of Sin City sounds awesome, I only have one of the graphic novels.

This is a very tough question. It is a tie between two books. One is _The Selfless Mind; Personality, Consciousness and Nirvana in Early Buddhism_ by Peter Harvey. The second is a tri-lingual version of Le Petit Prince in French, English and Chinese.
The Harvey is a most masterful account of personal continuity without affirming the existence of a personal ego-substance. The defects of the book are primarily editing issues. Some words are incorrectly spelled as their homonyms.
Le Petit Prince has always been a fave and now I can try it out in Chinese, which should be fun.

I sometimes comment…but not always…so I’ll post a delurking note here.
Favorite present. Boots, believe it or not. I’m not usually a shoe person

My mom got me a Playstation 2. Now I can play my Katamari game but need to buy a bigger tv so I can find out what my Sim keeps yelling at me about.

Boots are great! I love my Playstation 2, although I haven’t played many games on it recently.
