gamers in the library

Library Journal has an article, “Meet the Gamers” up, written by a couple of the presenters at an OCLC program that I attended at ALA midwinter.

I’m liking the web site of the University of Rochester library, because it seems so task-based. There’s a big link for articles (not “Indexes” or databases or periodical literature” at the top of the page, there is an option for finding articles by particular subjects right below the search form, the whole page seems to be designed to putting search options right in front of the user with a minimum of extra clicks. I actually stumbled across this site looking for examples of instructional content, and it doesn’t seem like they have tons of instructional guides of the kind that I frequently write, but maybe that is because the library web site functions well enough that they don’t need all of that extra stuff.
