I can’t remember in which listserv I read a message about a library cataloging all their article databases, but it sounds like a good thing to do! I think if you were to go through some of the search records of any library catalog, it would be surprising how many times you would see someone searching the library catalong for “ABI/Inform” or “Infotrac”. By being able to give a meaningful search result to people searching the catalog this way, you would hopefully be able to eliminate some steps in using your libary’s web site. And on the other hand, if you notice people attempting to use your library’s web site search option to find books, maybe the search engine should have a customized results page that links to the library catalog?
