Tegan invented a meme where we visit 10 blogs listed on Comics Weblog Update and blog about them. I’ve wondered about listing myself on that site, I think I don’t blog about comics often enough to qualify as a true comics blogger.
The Comic Asylum - Front page lists a combination of posts about comics [...]

library weblogs update?
I have an idea which may be useful or may be totally redundant. So I’d appreciate some feedback on this before I think any more about putting it together. I know a bunch of comics bloggers use Comic Weblog Updates, which seems to be based on a script based on pings to blo.gs. I’m wondering [...]
Book Meme
Hmm, I’ve been tagged by the Well Dressed Librarian.
1. How many books do I own?
I actually tried to figure this out. I’m estimating that I have around 30 books on each shelf in my many bookcases (I tend to buy a lot of paperbacks which don’t take up as much room as hardcovers). I have [...]
blogging about blogging
I’m feeling a little conflicted, because I was about to prepare another post about the reaction to the list of library blogs, but then I realized that I often find blogging about library related things not very entertaining, and I also think that blogging about library blogging really only appeals to other library bloggers. So [...]
List of library blogs
I’m not sure how I feel about lists of blogs. I think it is tough to rank blogs, just because there isn’t a very reliable way of really calculating readership for a blog. That being said, I thought the Biblioblogosphere article in Cites & Insights was interesting, especially because Walt provided his data and details [...]
more work blogging
Well, things are going well with the unnamed mysterious blog that we’re starting up where I work. Today we had a hands-on session where we got the blog started, and the people who are going to blog set up blogger accounts and created a few posts. I’m glad we picked blogger for this project since [...]
Blogging at my library
We’ve been blogging internally for a while now, but we have a couple projects that would call for a public blog. One is a discipline-based blog to help with outreach for people with research projects (faculty, graduates, and undergraduates). A smaller library on my campus has a perfect project for a blog, they need to [...]
Wordpress StatTraq
StatTraq is a statistics plugin your Wordpress blog. I installed it recently and it seems to pick up and display a little bit more data than the statistics my host provides. Of course, I am completely overwhelmed by referral spam, but if you are interested in tracking visitors to your site, it is worth installing.
dingos ate my website
I think my site was mysteriously down for most of the afternoon. It seems to be working now. If you notice any glitches let me know!
bloggy stuff
I changed the permalink structure on the blog, so instead of something like http://www.tangognat.com/?p=663, you get the slightly more informative link structure http://www.tangognat.com/2005/04/06/pack/. I think I updated my .htaccess file so old links to posts won’t be broken, but if you notice anything funky please let me know.
If you are using wordpress and want to [...]
