I would love a manga of Amethyst. Re-done for a wider audience, more matured and revised. Great interview, Dark Opal is a real kickass villain, hope to see him again.

A great interview, and interesting to see how closely Messrs Cohn and Mishkin's comments fit with my own reactions after reading the initial 12-issue story. Particularly their instinct that it could well be repackaged for today's shoujo manga readers. After all, Amethyst is essentially a Magical Girl a la Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura or Saint Tail, and like them her secret identity allows her - and the reader - to explore more mature or extreme emotions and experiences, while remaining safely grounded in everyday life. Plus I love that they're clear-sighted about their flubs, while they managed to get so much right. I mean, WINGED UNICORNS. What are you waiting for, DC?

It's funny that She-Ra kinda killed off Amethyst. I started picking up copies of Amethyst in the dollar bins because it reminded me of She-Ra.

I would totally pick up a re-colored version if DC compiled it together.

With all the changes in the DC universe there is always the possibility that they may pick up Amethyst as a supporting character again. Too bad they have a habit of re-doing the background stories whenever that happens.

Either way I would definitely support a new Amethyst story if it ever came about.

Amethyst was a character with great potential -it's a shame that it was never fully developed.

Thanks for a fun interview, I hate the way Amy flipflipped between good and evil after the regular title ended. She's a good girl, that's it!

I'd love to see her back in one of DC's 'co-feature' books.
