Well I never heard of the game before I'd read the manga. But I still love it and managed to get in to it pretty well, I find that if your struggling to understand whats going on and can't get in to something you should go slowly so you can figure out the characters. Or do what I do and reseach on the computer. Seeing the characters and their names is enough for me normally. Then I know who everyone is. After you know whats happening though and who everyone is I found it an interesting, enjoyable manga and have just ordered the 4th (:

I think that someone who has already invested in the game and story would probably like the manga, but it was a little too difficult for me to get into.

I don't know. I agree with half of what you are saying, but then again I don't. I myself have not had much of the pleasure of playing the game, or reading much of the mangas, save volume one(which turned out to be a video of it on youtube, haha) It was a bit difficult to follow, but none the less thoroughly enjoyed. I think people can get into it, just if they try a bit and think of whats going on in the story line.
