He was such a great character. Why Amethyst ever bothered moping over Topaz when she had good old Carl around I'll never know. :) In fact my favoritism leaked through and influenced other girls. When I told Amethyst as a bedtime story, the girls always made up endings that had Amy and Carl living happily ever after. :) Not a lot happens it’s true, but this was always one of my favorite issues of the second series – just because of the way Carnelian and Amy played off each other.
