The design in the mini-series was beautiful. But you know what's odd? I can't get the girls in my elementary library to pick it up! They'll read Harlequin Pink manga, Courtney Crumin, Miki Falls, Babymouse, and Yotsuba &! without turning a hair. I even have some girls who are gaga over the Archie books; but they won't touch Amethyst. Apparently she's too "comicy" for the manga fans and too "mangay" for the comic fans.
