		<description>Well, it is partially the money and partially because I have no idea what I'm going to be doing for a regular job. I'd join different divisions of ALA depending on what type of job I had. And I'm also not planning on going to any of the conferences anytime soon, so that's another reason not to renew right now.</description>

		<description>Keep in mind that you can also renew at the lower "retired" rate or whatever the low income level is. I can see all sorts of reasons not to renew, so this isn't a hard sell, but if it's really just the money, you have options.</description>

		<description>I know the feeling - I hated to let my AIGA membership expire, but it was just a bit too expensive and not enough return for me as a non-full-time designer whose workplace would not pick up the tab. Maybe again someday, but right now I'm not in the best space to take full advantage of it as an organization for professionals and networking.</description>
