Journalista on Tokyopop

Journalista (relaunched at its new site) has a long post on the Tokyopop online exclusives and the recent Stuart Levy interview.
It can’t all be about manga writes about the online exclusives too, and takes the opportunity to break down current buying habits.
I don’t buy that many Tokyopop books compared to other publishers. I buy Fruits Basket, of course! Tramps Like Us and Kare Kano are ending soon. I’ll pick up a volume of Saiyuki occasionally. I like Dramacon, but I’m not really following much of Tokyopop’s original graphic novel line. I spend much more money on Viz books. Even though I like Dragon Head, I’m not going to buy it directly from Tokyopop. I try to avoid buying manga if I’m not getting at least 30% off the retail price.

I order most of my manga online through Discount Comic Book Service. Right Stuf also has regular sales on specific publishers where everything is 30-40% off.

Ah, thanks. Until recently I’d been ordering from DCBS as well, but I got tired of preordering things and then having them interminably delayed.
I hadn’t checked out Right Stuf before, so I’ll have to watch them for sales. Thanks for the tip!
