Possible topics for The Carnival of the Infosciences

I’ll take any post you would care to send but perhaps some ideas might get the posts flowing, so to speak.

It is National Library Week! What are you doing, if anything, to celebrate? And does it involve beer and random trivia about Ranganathan?

What the heck is up with ALA’s request for a propsal to examine the feasibility of the creation of a “Library Corps” of retired librarians who would volunteer their time in libraries when new graduates are having a hard time finding jobs?

Naomi Wolf calls for age ratings on YA novels. Discuss.

Which fictional male librarian would win in a fight, Jet Li’s character Simon from Black Mask or Rex Libris?

We’ve got Harry and the Potters, which book should be next to inspire a costumed tribute band?

That would be hilarious. Everyone could wear masks and long flowing wigs with bangs.

Da Vinci and The Codes, a band composed of albinos who only performs hard rock covers of Madonna songs. Get it? Madonna of the Rocks? Eh nevermind.

Black Mask can kick anyone’s butt. Period.

I like the idea of The Death Notes, a band who would dress as deranged Japanese schoolboys and throw apples at the audience. But that’s probably a bit too obscure.

I haven’t seen Black Mask, but I think Jet Li could take on anyone.

Rex Libris & Jet Li are both cool, but let’s face it: Giles could take both of them easily.
