Do you have any favorite searches that you use when you test out library catalogs or library databases? For whatever reason, whenever I take a look at a library catalog, the first book I search for is Dodie Smith’s I Capture the Castle. So when I finally got a chance to play around with John Blyberg’s cute proof of concept example of adding user data to a library catalog via faux handwriting annotations on old time images of library cards, that was the book I searched for. So some of the annotations on the card are mine.
I Capture the Castle is one of my favorite “comfort” books, if I ever am sick enough to only be capable of lying in bed and reading, it is one of the first books I reach for.

Hmmm…I think mine is “Don Quixote”. Just realized that!

Sherlock Holmes and Don Quixote are probably better than I Capture the Castle, because you can see how the opac deals with multiple works.

Mine would definitely have to be Doctor Who-then I can catch both books (novelizations and books about the series) and videos/dvds. One of these days I’m hoping a big finish audio or bbc radio collection cd will show up, too.
Anne McCaffrey searches also rank high on my list-I love her Pern books.
