Moving On

in: me

I’m going to be moving away from the Boston area this spring right before my wedding. This actually hit me pretty hard today, when I was figuring out how much time I had left here and realized that I’m going to have my current job for three months before heading into voluntary unemployment and moving out west, where the future Mr. TangognaT and I have already bought a condo. I’ve been having a few moments at work when I’ve been scheduling classes and feeling wistful thinking that it is going to be the last time I’m going to be working with the people I’ve met here. Then there are other moments, when I’m thinking things like “Ha! I will not have to attend a committee meeting again for a long time!” Not that committee meetings don’t involve meaningful and useful work, but I don’t think anyone’s favorite thing in life is attending committee meetings.
So I’m not exactly sure what I’ll be doing. I’ll be moving to an area where there aren’t a ton of places for library work, but hopefully something will turn up and I’ll get a job. Or I might go back to school. It is a little bit disconcerting, but change is good!!!!!

OMG! That IS a really big change. Good luck with the move and I hope whatever you end up doing out there is satisfying for you. Moves are disconcerting, but when you’re doing it with someone you love, it’s a lot less scary.

Thanks! I’m sure I’ll find something to do and it will all work out. I’m happy I’m making the move, but I’ve pretty much always had a job since graduating from college so that bit of uncertainty has me a little nervous.

Well, if I don’t have a job for a little bit, I’ll have MORE time to blog. Be afraid!
