Reading List, January 2006

I read a bunch this month. I wasn’t reading anything mentally taxing, although I did acutually read one non-fiction book which is quite a rarity for me.

Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner – More uneven than her other books, I don’t think the mystery elements blended well with the main plot.
Wedding Season by Darcy Cosper – Chick lit, unpredictable ending, was funny.
Mystic and Rider by Sharon Shinn – This first book in a new series doesn’t seem to have the innovative worldbuilding of her Samaria books, but I still liked it.
The Shapechanger’s Wife by Sharon Shinn – Good fantasy novel.
At Knit’s End by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee – Funny book of helpful meditations for people who are obsessed with yarn.
Born to Kvetch by Max Wexman – As funny as you’d expect a book about yiddish to be!
One For the Money by Janet Evanovich – I haven’t read anything by Evanovich before, but I enjoyed this first book in a series about Stephanie Plum, New Jersey bounty hunter.
