I got the save the dates for my wedding in the mail today! Somehow even though we’ve reserved a park and are investigating caterers, the whole thing seems much more real now that I have actual stationery related to the wedding. I’m sort of bummed out that the muppet stamps aren’t out yet. But perhaps it would be too goofy to use muppet stamps on wedding-related mailings.

Heck no! You should definitely do them on your invitations if the stamps are out by then. Your wedding and your wedding stationery should reflect who you are, so go for it!!!
Don’t get sucked into the “is this appropriate?” mentality, or you’ll drive yourself crazy by the time you get to your wedding.
What? You aren’t using the “Remember the Alamo” or Bob Hope stamps? Or Elvis? I don’t think there’s a Melville Dewey stamp. That would be classy!
Whoah–you’re getting married? Congratulations!
Believe me, since I’m planning on a Buddhist wedding with a chuppa, I’m usually not too worried about what might be typical of other weddings. I just have random thoughts now and then about stuff like stamps, but so far I’ve been pretty mellow, I think
Thanks Jon! I missed you when your old site went down - I’m glad to see you are back on the Internet!
A Buddhist wedding? You make me proud!
Glad to be back online–and at least marginally free enough to actually do something other than research! When’s the big day?
Next June - so I’m still in the early stages of planning.
Ah so you have plenty of time (well, for events like this–there never really seems to be enough time sometimes). I hope everything goes smoothly for you!
