William the Bloody TV Movie

in: tv

I’m not sure what to think about the news that a Spike TV movie may be in the works. I do own every season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD (except the 7th), and I did buy Spike and Drucilla action figures, but even so sometimes I wonder if it is best to just let a TV show end. I was thrilled that Farscape had a mini-series to tie everything up, but this case just seems like yet another way to spin off a series to the point where I wonder if it is sustainable.

oh, it’s probably not sustainable at all. But can I tell you how excited I was to read that story anyway? I might have squealed. Yes, I think I did.

I figured the ending(s) they gave Spike (on Buffy, and then on Angel) were pretty much spot on, and I don’t know why we need more of him. I like the character, I like the series, I like the actor, but really, at what point does it just seem like desperation?

Personally, I would prefer an Illyria spin-off. There’s new stuff that could be done with the character and all, without neccessarilly beating the dead horse. But then, I’m pretty fond of Amy Acker, especially after seeing her range in the last season of Angel, as well as on Justice League Unlimited.

I always thought they should have done a Faith spin-off, if anything.

I’m totally going to watch the movie though, even if I do worry that the whole thing is played-out.

I was confused there for a second, ’cause I thought you were talking about some movie on Spike TV.

I’ll pretty much watch anything that Tim Minear is involved in making.

Also, it might be interesting to see Spike as the protagonist, rather than as Angel-doppelganger.

I’d rather have a Giles spinoff, though I wouldn’t object to an Illyria spinoff (with a revived Wesley, preferably).

To be truthful i think that spikes the best character on the hole buffy verse.I would be so glad if there was a movie or even a spike series i mean think of all the coolnew characters that could be created or even maby bring back clemment spikes wrinkly friend from sunnydale. It would also be nice because i personaly thought that the way spikes last ever task was to save a baby on angel was naff .
