Thanks for the chuckle. Whether that was your intent or not, this is a hilarious entry. I have stayed out of the debate except to do a little happy dance for being included. It seems silly for folks to get their panties in a bunch over a rather informal survey of what's out there. Perhaps if Walt had simply done a review of the blogs and left out the metrics, no one would have gotten all worked up about it.

Yeah, switching from one software to another did affect rankings, especially since my archives went haywire half a dozen times. But in the end, it probably worked out for the best. I really didn't feel like I had much worthy to contribute to librarianship. Other than the occasional parody and refgrunt.

That would be great though, if someone blogged about the possibility of me blogging about blogging, because I could then blog about the possibility of me blogging about someone blogging about the possiblility of me blogging about blogging. Except I would have already blogged about it.

Nat, I wonder if the combo of you changing your blogging software so frequently, switching to a photoblog and then switching back to a regular blog, made you not show up as much on bloglines or search engines compared to other blogs.

And I must say, I also tend to consider myself a blogger who works in a library who will blog about things (not always libraries), but not while I'm working at the library that I often don't blog about.

I was a little sadden not to be included in that list of library blogs, until it occured to me that I myself blogged about not wanting to be a library blogger anymore. I just happen to be a blogger who works in a library who may or may not blog about the library, while not at the library, because someone working for the library may be reading the blog, in which case I may no longer work for the library, which I may or may not have blogged about, but didn't blog from. Did that make sense?

One of my favorite disContent columns (in EContent Magazine) was "Cubed: Media about Media about Media" (September 2001); I republished it with an addendum in Cites & Insights 2:13, October 2002. I promise that I won't take the bait and blog about your blogging about the possibility of blogging about library blogs. Tempting as it is.
