I’m wondering a bit about the next season of Alias. I can see why they have to write JG’s pregnancy into the storyline, it is really hard to hide your stomach behind furniture placement and clothing in a spy show. And maybe they can do something intresting with the Rimbaldi storyline, Sydney could be preganat […]

Wordpress StatTraq
StatTraq is a statistics plugin your Wordpress blog. I installed it recently and it seems to pick up and display a little bit more data than the statistics my host provides. Of course, I am completely overwhelmed by referral spam, but if you are interested in tracking visitors to your site, it is worth installing.
full metal gigolo dead boy demon art thieves
Some manga I’ve read recently:
Rules of Love (amazon) - This was on the discount 1/2 off manga shelf at my local comic shop, so I snapped it up since I wasn’t about to turn down an Erica Sakurazawa book for $5.00. Did anything ever happen with Tokyopop’s initiative to market manga to older women? I […]
Face Time
One thing that I think gradually wears one out in any sort of job where you deal with people is the sheer amount of face time you spend interacting with the public. Now by nature I am fairly introverted, but I have no problem doing the type of public speaking that is required of me when I need to teach a library class.
teenlibrarian podcast
Miranda Doyle interviewed me for a podcast about anime & manga in libraries. There were a few glitches in the recording, but give it a listen!
(I really really really hate listening to my own voice. I say “Um” way too much! Yikes!)
book destruction
I guess seeing your boyfriend destroying a library book is a good reason to break up. But I don’t think she needs to cry that much.
more comic-con news
Report of Scholastic Graphic Novels Panel Christine “Hopeless Savages” Norrie is also working for Scholastic. Cool.
Otaku’s View of Comic-Con.I did not realize that Tokyopop was hiring Chuck Austen to write baseball manga. Ewww, I say. I say again, Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
library comics
Beaucoupkevin points out that the next project from Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley is Street Stupid, “a teen comedy about two sisters (who hate each other) who discover a secret society in their local library. The society has dedicated itself to using learning for evil. They want to destroy California (where they all live) […]
comicon manga news
Love Manga posts about the new manga releases announced at comicon.
I do think it is quite cool that Tokyopop is parterning with the Jim Henson company for MirrorMask and Labyrinth and the Dark Crystal.
Check it out: Howl’s Paper Castle
