Spawn of Alias

Assuming that Jennifer Garner is pregnant for the start of Alias filming next season, how are they going to work around it? Possible storyline ideas here:
-Sydney is pregnant with the reincarnated Rimbaldi, and the baby will bring about the end of the world
-It is Vaughn’s baby, and is born with a very wrinkly forehead.
-It is [...]

manga news

So, Full Metal Alchemist is ending up on regular bestseller lists. I don’t have my copy yet, but I did order it. I’m curious to see how similar the original manga is to the anime adaptation.
What is up with CMX? The editor resigned, and many people view it as a nonentity in the manga [...]

chill out on wikipedia - updated

I’m mystified by this incident.
Wikipedia already has a book lookup feature that gives the user the option to look up books using the ISBN.
This even works for the Da Vinci Code, so I can totally see why an individual link to worldcat on a book record might be viewed as a not good way [...]

lovely library quote from a recent comic book

“I plan to start my search for King Cobra in a building full of stale human sweat and manic gibbering. But unfortunately the public library is closed so I came here [Riker's Island Prison] instead…”

Girlamatic

One of the things I enjoyed about Free Comic Book day was Girlamatic . I really liked Chasing Rainbows, Bite Me (hilarious vampire story set in revolutionary France), and Sevenplains. I’m not sure if I’d end up suscribing to Girlamatic because I don’t tend to sustain much long term interest in web comics, even though [...]

Harvard Library, that Elusive Research Nirvana

May 9th, 2005 at 11:05 pm » Comments (6)

It is really interesting working in a library in the same geographic region as Harvard, because many of the students think if only they could get into the Harvard library system, all their research needs would be automatically fulfilled. I can sort of understand the mindset, because when I started working in libraries as a [...]

My sister passed on this link to the Narnia Trailer. Tilda Swinton really is the perfect White Witch.

Mother’s Day & Superman

May 8th, 2005 at 9:14 am » Comments (2)

Since I’m not around on Mother’s Day to take my Mom out for dinner, and her present won’t be coming until much later this month, I’m doing a blog post for her. Now, my mom likes Superman, so I’m going to link to a bunch of Superman stuff:
Superman does floors
Things you just don’t see in [...]

woo, free comics day!

May 7th, 2005 at 4:35 pm » Comments (2)

I ventured out in the rain to visit my comics shop. I picked up Legion of Superheroes #5, the Howard Chaykin Solo book, and W Juliet #4 - a title I keep meaning to drop but always seem to end up picking up if there’s not a lot of other stuff I’m buying. I tend [...]
