Tarantino used Lady Snowblood to inspire his movie Kill Bill not as a rip off. If you notice in the second Kill Bill movie Uma and her daughter are watching Lone Wolf and Cub, which is the manga Kazuo Koike is most famous for. Tarantino is honoring his amazing work not ripping it off. After all imitation is the best form of flattery.
