RSS and Sirsi

January 25th, 2005 at 11:08 pm » Comments (0)

I’m not sure what to think about Sirsi supporting RSS. I am finding myself a little underwhelmed. Partly because the RSS module seems to be buried in Sirsi Rooms and the Enterprise Portal Watchamacallit. Some other people have questions about this too.
Tying RSS to a library vendor content management system doesn’t seem like an unreasonable [...]

snowday

Not much going on today, I’m getting over my Cold of Doom. My landlord came by and unearthed my car with a snow blower, so that was VERY nice. I spent most of the day watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, reading, and napping.
Some recently read manga:
Othello vol 1 and 2

I can’t see my car!

feeling feeble

I’m just starting to get over a truely hideous cold that I caught shortly after ALA. I don’t know what happened — either librarians are horribly infectious or I was spending too much time walking around in the cold and riding public transportation. MMOG info lit: don’t do it

January 19th, 2005 at 6:43 pm » Comments (6)

Alane from OCLC left a comment on my post about the Gaming and Information Literacy program at ALA asking me to elaborate on why I think an info lit MMOG game isn’t such a good idea. A little bit of disclosure about my own background – I’ve been teaching library workshops and instruction sessions for [...]

ALA: Day 3: Time to Slack

January 17th, 2005 at 2:30 pm » Comments (2)

Yesterday I decided to take it easy. I woke up around 7, drank 2 cups of coffee and tried to figure out if I wanted to go to LITA Top Technology Trends Discussion Meeting or LITA Human/Machine Interface Interest Group. I decided to go back to sleep for another hour! If I had traveled [...]
