After reading your post I decided to try to install a Wiki. I managed to install Media Wiki in a matter of minutes. It's the same software that runs Wikipedia. Since you're running WordPress, you already have the main ingredients for MediaWiki : PHP and MySQL. The documentation for the install is pretty straight forward, but the docs for running the thing are a little more complicated. I've got it running, but I have no idea what to to next.

Your idea is definitely not lame! I don't have any good advice or experience, but I'd love to hear what you end up using and how it works out. Soon setting up wikis will be as easy and routine as setting up a blog, I'm sure. Good luck! It's a fabulous idea and one I was thinking about as well.

It doesn't look like my host has any easy install wiki apps -- I think that I might be able to manage setting something up that uses php/mysql.
That's great that you wouldn't mind helping out -- I'll be in touch once I manage to get something set up :)

The idea is far from lame. I know my previous webhost provided some wiki apps within Cpanel that were a breeze to install, trying checking yours. I wouldn't mind helping out...

Chcek out Instiki. It's a really nice simple Wiki solution that just works.

You'll need Ruby 1.8.1 or above in order to run it, though.
