Everyone else is doing it… my top 5 current manga titles

1. Legend of Basara. Post apocalyptic action adventure romance featuring star-crossed lovers, destiny, and cross-dressing. This is the title I most look forward to reading.

2. Hot Gimmick. Pure soap opera, this is my favorite teen romance title (along with Mars).

3. I’m going to cheat here and list two titles by the same author, Imadoki and Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden. In Imadoki Watase Yu leaves behind the fantasy elements usually present in her work to focus on a story of high school friendship. Genbu Kaiden is a prequel to Fushigi Yuugi that revisits its world, but the characters and storylines are much more nuanced and complex than the original. I hope it gets translated into English eventually.

4. Planetes, great science fiction focusing on a team of debris collectors in space.

5. X/1999 The Never Ending Apocalypse! Pretty Boys! Feathers! Who will win, Heaven or Earth?!!! I don’t know, but everyone will look very stylish while fighting for the fate of the world!!!!
