why must Sean Bean always be thwarted?

in: movies

It’s too bad the characters Sean Bean always plays in Hollywood action movies always end up being thwarted bad guys. I saw National Treasure — I was expecting it to be a predictable Jerry Bruckheimer movie and it was — and I couldn’t help myself from wishing that Sean Bean would beat Nick Cage up and abscond with the treasure and the girl. Sadly, this did not happen.

I found the yiddishisms of Nick Cage’s young sidekick a little startling, because the character’s name was Riley. I have never known a Jew named Riley. Perhaps he was from some long lost Irish tribe of Jews, who knows?

Now if Nick and Sean would have swaped roles National Treasure might have been an interesting movie. Poor Sean.
Maybe Riley name himself after his dog like Indiana Jones. Maybe.
