I’m not fond of early morning committee meetings. Most of this is due to the fact that I am so not a morning person. Early morning for me is before 9:30. As long as the meeting takes place at a more humane hour, I report for committee work with a spring in my step and a song in my heart.
When my minions (aka “the people”) rise up and install me as the supreme commander of all I survey (aka “benevolent president for life”), one of the first sweeping changes of my regime will be to decree that all committee meetings will take place around 11:00, and there will be tea and crumpets for all.
Do you think if hypothetically someone entered the conference room before the meeting and scattered a couple boxes of golf pencils all over the floor, all the other committee members would trip and fall down, knocking themselves unconscious so no meeting could take place?
I’m just tired. I was at the library for a good 13 hours today, but now I have comp time, so I will barely be at work on Friday. I think I teach 2 classes tomorrow, 2 classes on Thursday, and 3 classes on Monday and then I’ll be all done with teaching for the semester.
