I read the first volume of Descendents of Darkness a couple weeks ago. I agree with Dorian that it is a pleasant enough manga. It is set in the bureaucracy of the Ministry of Hades. Tsuzuki appears to be a carefree guardian of death, visiting the earth to collect the souls of people who have stayed alive past their allotted time, but he ends up unraveling the mysteries that prevent people from going peacefully into the afterlife. I thought it was cute that the afterlife features twin librarians (Gushoshin), who archive files about the dead. One even gets sent out on assignment with Tsuzuki, taking a laptop with him so he can do some mobile cataloging.
The 3 episode Read or Die OVA (the most library/book centric anime I’ve seen) is going to air on Cartoon Network starting October 23rd.
