I’m going to pretend for a moment that I’m the craftylibrarian, and blog about knitting!
The image below is a semi-collage of everything I’ve made so far:
Basically a blue scarf, striped scarf, a striped hat, a baby blanket (not for me, I am not spawning any offspring) and I’m working on a giant wrap thing made out of Noro Kureyon yarn (that is the blue, black, and grey stripey thing on the left that everything else is piled on top of).
I taught myself out of a book, so I’m probably doing a few things wrong here and there but everything seems to have come out okish so far. I have a few problems in embarking on a new hobby. One issue is that I have poor impulse control when it comes to shopping. This is why I have way too many books, comic books, a bookcase rapidly getting overloaded with graphic novels, dvds, and now I’m working on building up a backlog of yarn to work on. Also, I have bad timing in discovering that I enjoy knitting with wool right before the weather is going to warm up. Also knitting is a great excuse to sit and veg out in front of the tv because I am multitasking by making myself a lovely wrap while watching a Pimp My Ride marathon on MTV. So I haven’t been reading as much as I usually do, because while I can prop a comic book up on my knees and read while I’m knitting, I have not been able to do that with a novel. I might have to lay off the knitting because I just started reading The Fortress of Solitude, and I usually get compulsive about finishing Jonathan Lethem books very quickly.

Wow! Those really look great! I don’t know how to knit, but I know how to crochet.
I love Pimp My Ride! Yes I do. My daughter should be on that show with her ‘older than dirt’ purple Volkswagon Rabbit. I’d love to see that thing pimped out! LOL!!

I can only crochet one stitch. For whatever reason, I find knitting patterns easier to understand.
Ha, your daughter should send in a tape of her car, you never know!
