Nat says it is poem on your blog day, so here I go, this is Dogen’s Death Poem from the book Moon in a Dewdrop:
Fifty-four years lighting up the sky.
A quivering leap smashes a billion worlds.

I’m going to pretend for a moment that I’m the craftylibrarian, and blog about knitting!
The image below is a semi-collage of everything I’ve made so far:

Basically a blue scarf, striped scarf, a striped hat, a baby blanket (not for me, I am not spawning any offspring) and I’m working on a giant wrap thing made […]

2) Print indexes are great to have around, specifically the old reliable Readers’ Guide to Periodical Literature for those students with more general topics to work on.
3) Fun with advanced search […]

summer movie fun time!

April 26th, 2004 at 10:21 pm » Comments (12)

Inspired by the recent post over at Rawbrick, suspecting my summer movie preview issue of Entertainment Weekley is lost in the mail, and having some extra time at the desk between telling people where the books are, I engaged in intensive research to compile the following list of movies I want to see this summer:
Wolverine […]

If I was doing collection development as a children’s librarian, I would totally get Emily and the Intergalactic Lemonade Stand. The preview looks so cute! (via previewsreview)

Bill

April 20th, 2004 at 11:11 pm » Comments (2)

I agree with my little sisters that “Dude!” is an appropriate response to Kill Bill Vol 2. I especially enjoyed the bits of Ennio Morricone’s spaghetti western work on the soundtrack.
It did make me wonder if I could go on a “roaring rampage of revenge” at work. Perhaps the people who come up to […]
