I really liked the early Cerebus stuff; the examinations of the opposing types of feminism would be really useful if Sim wasn’t such a nutbar. I’d like to own them someday–particularly Church & State and Minds (love the discussion between the creator and the created), but I wouldn’t feel right supporting him as he wound up.
Guess I’ll have to wait till he’s dead.

Yes, I loved early Cerebus too, and I stuck with it longer than I should have because I kept thinking “He’s not that crazy. It’ll get better” and it didn’t. I’m not sure if I’ll pick up issue 300 when it comes out. Either way, just the fact that Sim has managed to put out an independant comic since 1977 is stunning.

My husband has been trying to get me to read them. He has the entire run of Cerebus. Too many books, too little time.

Early Cerebus is great, Dave Sim lost me in later Cerebus with his whole women=void thing.
